Hi! My name is Bob Brooks, and I run DamnThe.com
I do most of the programming myself, but I'm not an expert html coder, so please forgive the odd 404 or broken link.
This site started about 6 or 7 years ago as a place to hold a little short film I directed called "The Dildo Song". It was a joke video that some friends and I (and some actor buddies) made for fun one summer. Total budget: about $300. It's gone on to become one of the most popular viral videos in internet history! In fact, the term "viral video" was actually coined to refer to it! It was so popular that some months I was getting $300 bandwidth overage bills from my service provider (who later kicked me off, after 5 years - calling the Dildo Song "obscenity" - luckily I moved to BlueHost), and that was for a single internet page with one small video on it!
The only other thing I used the site for was a few pages of original movie posters I had for sale. And, I let a friend host a site here about authenticating original movie posters.
So, recently, I decided I'd expand the site. Give my many viewers something else to do other than watch the dildo song.
This site will have an eclectic mix of content. The only common denominator: it's something I enjoy or find funny or interesting. Check out some funny stories and viral videos, even some music videos. There are a few Damned Good Recipes for you to try. Pranks. Some beautiful photographs. Even some funny interviews. This, that, the other thing. And, much, much more.
In keeping with its underground nature, I've tried to make things a bit different from your average website. Hence, the black background. You may notice something else feels a bit different here... That's the text. I use 'courier new' as a sort of tongue-in-cheek homage to the film industry (all Hollywood scripts are written in a specific size of courier, bet you didn't know that).
So, feel free to look around. Don't take things too seriously. And - you'd better not be underage!!!
