If you are going outside of the United States for your spring break trip then you are going to need a passport. It is important that you get your spring break passport, as recent changes in air travel rules from the United States to other countries have required the use of one.

The current passport rules went into effect on January 23, 2007. These rules state that all people in the United States who will be traveling by plane to Canada, Mexico and anywhere in Central or South America will need a passport. In the case that you are not a resident of the United States who is going to school in the country you will need a different type of identification for your spring break passport. An Alien Registration Card (Form I-551) will be needed.
