Dear Movie-Lover:
My name is Bob Brooks, and I run DamnThe.com
You have reached one of the most discerning collections of original movie advertising artwork on the net. Unlike most other movie poster web sites, I only sell posters for the very cream of the crop. You won't find a single poster here for 99% of Hollywood's films. That's because 99% of Hollywood's films tend towards crap. You'll just find posters from the very best films - or posters with the very best artwork - or both. Even if you don't collect posters, if you are a movie lover get ready to enter shangri-la!
I don't have any frills on this web site. You won't find a shopping cart or automated checkout. I believe every movie poster is a distinct being in and of itself, such as a fine painting, and should therefore be treated as such: with due care and personal attention. That's why virtually every photograph on this site is of the specific poster for sale, not just some stock image. And, that's also why I package my items carefully.
Unless otherwise specified, all posters are original theatrical posters from a film's primary release. Don't bother emailing me whether a poster is original or not - it is. The only exceptions to this rule would be things like the video one sheet for Lonesome Dove (it never had a theatrical release) or the Roger Rabbit mylars (they are really more collectibles than true movie posters). I have long been a crusader against reproductions and reprints entering the hobby.
You're not going to find much, if any, Universal Horror or 50's Sci-Fi here (or Gene Autry movies, or serials). I'm a collector, first and foremost. And, those movies tended to be bloody awful - I rarely pick up posters for movies I don't like, so.... What you will find is some of the rarest and most sought after posters from the classics of modern film-making. Only part of my collection is online - if there's a poster you are looking for, drop me a line, I may just have it.
Feel free to look around and enjoy yourself. If you've got nothing better to do, you can even watch my very first short film in the 'video' section (Mopo members were instrumental in making it one of the most popular short films in history).
And, don't forget to save me an aisle seat!
Sincerely,
Bob Brooks
