This is a great recipe. Simple. Easy. Cheap. And, tastes of home-cooking. So, instead of drawing a nice warm bath and slitting your wrists tonight, why don't you try this wonderful recipe for tuna casserole.
There's nothing better than a nice hot tuna casserole with a toasty piece of garlic bread on a cold winter night. Mmmm.
You'll need:
One box Kraft Dinner macaroni and cheese
One can tuna (flaked)
Once can cream of mushroom soup
2 tbsp. cheeze whiz (or other cheese)
One half cup frozen peas
milk
butter
Start by making one box of regular Kraft Dinner maccaroni and cheese. Make the pasta, drain, add the cheese powder, butter, milk, etc... as per the instructions on the box.
Place back on the burner (lower the heat first) and stir in the tuna and mushroom soup. Add a heaping tablespoon or two of Cheese Whiz and 1/2 cup frozen peas.
Add a little extra milk as it cooks, if it needs thinning (the casserole should have the consistency of thick stew when it's served, not too runny).
Salt and pepper to taste.
Fresh pressed garlic to taste (or garlic salt, if you're too lazy to press the garlic).
Simmer on the stove top for 5 or 10 minutes (until the frozen peas are cooked), stirring constantly. You may need to add more milk to keep the casserole from becoming too sticky.
If you would like something a bit different, you could sprinkle grated cheese (and/or bread crumbs) over top and bake in the oven.
Serve in bowls or on plates with a side of garlic toast and a fresh salad.
This recipe makes more than enough for one. So, if you're like the women I date - there'll be more than enough for you AND your 37 cats. Hey, cats love tuna more than crack whores love crack!
Stores well and tastes even better the next evening.
