Spotting a rustic, hundred-year-old schoolhouse sitting beneath a towering red stone wall, I stopped to take a picture. As I was setting up the tripod, I heard some rustling behind me. I turned around to find a small group of wild reindeer foraging for food in a small crab-apple grove.
I held out one of the apples, and one of the small females approached me. Gingerly she craned out her neck - sniffed my hand - gently licked my fingers - and carefully took the apple right out of my palm and ate it.
That's the one thing I will always remember about this trip...
